Williamsburg Community Preschool

The Assistant Teacher is responsible for helping to maintain the smooth operation of the preschool program and caring for its students through:

Assisting the Lead Teacher as assigned.

Supervising activities as requested by the teacher such as:

• Participating with children during activities.

• Enforcing safety rules.

• Following protocols for behavior modification techniques.

Preparing supplies and the environment for activities. This includes, but is not limited to such things as sweeping the floor, sanitizing toys, cleaning tables, etc.

Maintaining an orderly environment for activities.

Aiding individual children who experience difficulty in the group.

Assisting with activities that take place after hours as requested by the Director (prom, literacy night, spring dinner, participation celebration, parent's night, open house, etc.).

Assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of the facility.

Keeping all required certifications current.
